photo post

i took this photo of peache during their prenuptial pictorial in tagaytay. the shoot was late afternoon. she is no professional model but was game to try something new. pwede na bang pang-ad ng shades hahaha!

diabetes and chocolate

i found this book on sale, a cookbook for diabetics. i hope to actually do one recipe for dada who is a diabetic. i always buy cookbooks and food magazines, when i flip the pages and rave about the food photos, how the food looks so so yummy (second would be how good the photographer or food stylist is), dada would always say it would be yummier if i actually cook the recipe. well he is right, i haven't reach that part yet...hehehe! hopefully this february when my schedule is not so crazy.

another food related post is this photo of a cacao fruit (?) brought by mom from the province. i've never seen a cacao or cacao seed actually, except in its powdered form at the groceries. the seed is covered by a white coat, its similar to an atis seed and can be eaten also. my mom told me that the seed is dried under the sun and this would be the start of a process of having a cacao powder or the tablea or the chocolates. here's a pic of the cacao fruit.

so this post is an irony, a diabetic book and a cacao fruit to make chocolates. oh well, there is sugar-free chocolates na pala hehehe...

who is in my bed?

while browsing my digicam, i was surprised to see this photo. my 6 year old niece, chloe on my bed! whenever she spends weekend with us, she always plays on my bed, she plays with my nemo and flounder stuff toys bringing with her her own toys, composed of hello kitty, barbie and matchbox cars, kaya lang di nakita sa pic. photographed by her older sister, nicholle.

Batch Dinner

last friday, we had our batch dinner at italliani's restaurant at fort bonifacio. it was so great to see each other again, catching up on things, chatting away. i hitched a ride with gayle and her husband, albert. and since we arrived before the others, we decided to dropped by at sonja's cupcakes to have our dessert! yes! dessert for us before the actual dinner hahaha! our cupcakes were too sweet, gayle got the chocolate flavored cupcake while i got a pistachio-strawberry. my cupcake was tough, looks like it spent a couple days in the freezer. gayle and i decided that we had better ones. oh well, so much for us eating dessert before meeting our ka-batches, katakawan kasi namin ayan ang napapala hehehe...

we spotted karina and kim heading for italliani's so we decided to join them na, dots and hubby bingo arrived shortly. dottie is 6 months pregnant but doesn't look like it. arlene arrived halfway through dinner. and suprise of all, our batchmate, rommel, was able to join us. albert called him at home and invited him to join us, good thing he joined us because he brought with him funny and mischievous stories and anecdotes, these made us laugh especially the stories from way way back. kim's husband, randy, was able to join us also and he patiently sat and listened while we continue chatting and reminiscing about our college life.

surprise of all is when cherish called up dots (cherish is our batchmate based in London). we would have wanted to talk to her except that the resto is too noisy plus the line is really choppy, we couldn't hear each other. but still, the call made us missed her more.

here are some souvenir photos from that night, the first three ones courtesy of Karina.

looking forward to...

this year, i am looking forward to a lot of things to happen in my life, in short, i am wishing for a better year than 2007.

but this week, i am looking forward to...

* having dinner with my k-batches this friday! i really miss them and wanna see them, so we can catch up on what's happening with everyone. and this year, we will be complete! well, almost complete, C & M are based abroad already. but this dinner will also be a "meeting" of sorts for the homecoming of C in february. we hope to discuss and block our skeds so we may meet C and her family.

* spending a day with dada. a time for the two of us only, though far fetched since we are almost always are surrounded with family and friends, we hope to have some quality time and this would usually mean watching a movie -- we wanna see national treasure -- and eating at one of our fave restos, its a toss between hap chan or burgoo!

* buying new shoes for me! comfy flat shoes, black with non-slippery soles, good for running around during shoots : )

* a wedding shoot near our house which means less travel time, less traffic, less stress!

* starting my diet of fish, chicken and veggies. no sodas. juice and plain water for me only. this is for the weight i gained from eating all the desserts during the holiday season, as well as making that trip to the dessert buffet during wedding receptions! hehehe!

oh, i hope its friday already, 2 more sleeps na lang : )
