diabetes and chocolate

i found this book on sale, a cookbook for diabetics. i hope to actually do one recipe for dada who is a diabetic. i always buy cookbooks and food magazines, when i flip the pages and rave about the food photos, how the food looks so so yummy (second would be how good the photographer or food stylist is), dada would always say it would be yummier if i actually cook the recipe. well he is right, i haven't reach that part yet...hehehe! hopefully this february when my schedule is not so crazy.

another food related post is this photo of a cacao fruit (?) brought by mom from the province. i've never seen a cacao or cacao seed actually, except in its powdered form at the groceries. the seed is covered by a white coat, its similar to an atis seed and can be eaten also. my mom told me that the seed is dried under the sun and this would be the start of a process of having a cacao powder or the tablea or the chocolates. here's a pic of the cacao fruit.

so this post is an irony, a diabetic book and a cacao fruit to make chocolates. oh well, there is sugar-free chocolates na pala hehehe...
