Good News, Bad News

* Renewed a contract from one of our school clients in Batangas. Yey!
* The school requested us to shoot for 5 days in November, which is perfectly fine, except that we do not have a place to stay there. Boo!

* Finally was able to go to the newly opened SM Marikina last Saturday, parking is a plus point, wide and spacious. Good mix of shops in the Cyberzone area (Powermac, Asus, Silicon Valley, CD-R King, Epson, etc.) Great ceiling design that depicts the number 888. Yey!
* Lobby and hallway is quite small in terms of floor area for walking around. Attracted lots and lots of people, made me think, Pasko na ba? We tried to eat in Pancake House, KFC and Pizza Hut, no available seats. Boo! - we ended going to Sta.Lucia Mall and ate at Sbarro and had coffee in Starbucks where there is less crowd and lots of floor space to walk around hehehe...

*Its a holiday on October 1! Yey!
*It falls on a Wednesday, middle of the week! My dada can't go home in the middle of the week just to drive back to work early the next day. We are fans of PGMA's rescheduling of holidays to either monday or friday, this means dada and i can spend time together longer. Boo!

*My sister dear found a surgeon who will perform my needed operation for free! Benefit of having a doctor in the family. Yey!
*No available schedule yet. Boo! (but at least i don't pay the surgeon hehehe...)

*Love the hotdog sandwiches and siopao from Mini Stop which recently opened a branch in our village entrance. Yey!
*Tried to buy them as early as 4:00am before going to one of our shoots, but it not yet available, they start selling them by 7:00am. Boo!

more to come....

Photos

I wasn't suppose to be blogging today cause I got tons of work to do. But I got siderailed to blog because I was hopelessly trying to access my yahoo email account, yahoo keeps on saying that there's a problem of some sort on their end that's why I can't read my emails. I tried this morning and now but to no avail. I really need to read my emails, its so important! hay!!!

btw, the photos above - a statue and a fountain was taken eons ago from fernwood gardens. no connection whatsoever in my previous paragraph, I just want to share the photo.

this photo was taken just last weekend in Batangas when I went there to shoot a family day/foundation day celebration in one of our school clients. I am with Clifford (?) here, I believe that he is a mascot of Scholastic Publications. He entertained the kids, I happened to be at his side during the break. After shooting this event the whole day, from 8 in the morning til about 7:30pm, I felt like I went to the beach, I got sunburned! and I got wet, not from swimming in the sea, but from my perspiration! Yeah, I got really yucky that day and its not a good feeling. Note to self for next years shoot, bring a hat/cap, an extra shirt, use sunblock and drink lots of water. I got really tired, with all the happenings that day that it was like heaven sent when I got to seat in my favorite roadside eatery and devoured a piping hot bulalo!!! ah what a reward...

Choy and Grace

Choy and Grace got married last August 18, 2008. It was a Christian ceremony that was so solemn. The couple and their families was so easy to work with, no tense moments during the preparation. They are all smiling all the way to the ceremony (except when Grace got so nervous before the bridal march), it was really a match made in heaven. Choy and Grace are two of the most kind-hearted people i've ever met, really. I wish them all the best!

Here are some photos...

Random Stuff

Some random things that happened in my busy life...

* Started a diet of nothing fried or anything with oil and too much fat. I can only eat food that is grilled, steamed and baked. Why? for health reasons...

* No sodas and coffee too. Water and fruit juices only. This is ok with me because I really don't drink a lot of soda and I can live without coffee.

* Attended the wake of a good friend's dad. This event really made me so sad :(

* Celebrated a good friend's birthday at Friday's, which made me realize my diet is limited only to the resto's salad only. Their grilled items on the menu still has oil.

* Because of the diet, I really am into siopao, dimsums, oatmeal and fruits. This event made me understand what my dada is feeling (he is diabetic) when he can't have that slice of cake or that scoop of ice cream.

* Attended a bridal fair which made me realize how big the wedding industry now compared to 4 to 5 years ago. A lot of new players in the biz!

* Haven't finish sorting out all my photos of our clients for the month of August. I can't believe that we had more shoots in August than June!

* Bought a second cellphone with a Smart number, because Dada changed his number to Smart because he was transferred to a place where Smart signal is better than Globe.

* Strolled Greenbelt on a Sunday with Dada, which was a good break for us. Its been a long time since we've spent a half a day in Makati.

* I bought one sack of rice from NFA, at approximately 25 pesos a kilo. mura na ba ito?

so far this is what i did in between my usual routine. i think my routine will stay the same for now...

The debut was last August 30, yes, the same date as the big reunion concert of Eraserheads. I really wanted to watch the concert, but ofcourse, the debut was my priority. The debutante and her friends also wanted to watch the concert, but again, ofcourse, the event was scheduled way even before the E-heads announced their concert. I can't believe that these young people also wanted to see the concert, I thought that E-heads is popular only to my generation. I know that it was during the '90s when E-heads was really sikat and I was in college back then. Now after almost 18 years, sikat pa rin pala talaga sila, with fans in all walks of life and age levels. Anyway, the debutante and her friends promised that we will watch the concert together...if there is a second concert. here are some photos not from the concert but from the debut.

Behind The Scene

During shoots, our crew sometimes take photos of each other. Here are some behind the scene photos of me working...

this is me on serious mode, making sure i record the most important part of a wedding, the vows. don't i look fat? i do! may double chin na ako!

me again, fixing the veil of our bride. a tip for brides, you should refrain from using shiny and thick veils, as well as veil's with pearls or swarovski or any speck of gem (kahit pa diamond yan!) because it hides the face, reflects lights and it causes distraction. We wanna see your face not your shiny veil.

me shooting, couple hamming it up in front of me (even if we are in front of the altar), some church are not too strict if we shoot near/beside/in front of the altar. but there are churches who are so strict that we are confined to just one corner, giving as less freedom to shoot at various angles.

one of our showbiz moments, our crew posing for a souvenir photo with Christopher Leon and Sandy Andolong. Nasaan ako dyan? wala, because i am already at the reception venue preparing the on-site photo slideshow. ang dadaya nila! hehehe...

while waiting...wala lang. there are times that we wait a lot, waiting for the client to arrive, waiting for the bride to finish hair and make-up, waiting for the debutante to dress-up, or just simply waiting...

at the choir loft of a church, i think this one is in Subic. Waiting for the bridal march to start. so i can have that much loved "top shot", with me is jason, videographer and two of the entourage who will drop rose petals during the entrance.

while waiting (again), i tried out Mike's lens baby (Mike is one of our photographers). don't you hate my hair? i do!!!

me doubling as a maid of honor or coordinator, when a couple decides not to get a coordinator and the maid of honor is still having her make-up done or running late, i am the next best substitute, bride's usually needs help in carrying their bouquet or bag, holding up their train, following up on their bridal car, going to the bathroom, making sure she is pretty during the pictorial, etc. i am planning to be a wedding planner na nga e, i think i can do it. at least when i don't have shoots, i can coordinate naman hehehe! In this shot, I am hiding from the view of our photographer who is behind the wall.

So what is the common denominator in all of the photos above? Yes, I am wearing a white top, black slacks, and belt bag (contains memory cards, tapes, license, pins, candy, crackers, tissue, ipod and keys). So, give me a white blouse this coming Christmas okey? hehehe....
